Hi there!
My name’s Melia
I’m a trail taker, ridge-line runner, & a waterfall chaser. I’m happiest with a pack on my back, dirt beneath my feet, and when burritos are on the dinner menu. I’m also a writer, a mental health advocate, and a sexual assault survivor that’s found healing from my time spent outdoors.
In the last few years, I’ve hiked thousands of miles, discovered new outdoor activities, pushed my comfort zone, and learned a lot about myself.
My goal with showing up in these outdoor spaces is to bring more female perspectives and representation in the outdoors in order to make hiking, backpacking, and outdoor adventuring more accessible. I hope to inspire and empower women to believe that they can move mountains, too.
Whether you’re new to hiking, camping, and backpacking or you’re a frequent adventurer looking for new places to explore— I hope this blog serves you in your desire to get out more.

What trails have I hiked?
In 2016, the High Sierra Trail was my first long distance backpacking trip. In 2018, I retraced my steps on a 7 day, 72-mile solo trek of the trail. The HST is one of my favorite trails to talk about! Read more about the HST here.
In 2017, I spent 23 days backpacking 211-miles via the John Muir Trail. The trail starts in Yosemite and ended with my 3rd successful summit of Mt. Whitney. Read more about my adventure here.
While I’m originally from California, I currently live in Airbnb’s and travel all over the mountainous west. Destinations I’ve lived in this year include Utah, Idaho, South Lake Tahoe (CA), and Southwest Colorado. Read one of my latest trail guides here.
